Careers at Miller Utilities

Join the crews building underground and aerial utility infrastructure across the Upper Midwest, with roots in underground construction since 1987.

What the work is

Miller Utilities puts infrastructure in the ground and up on the poles: conduit and duct for fiber networks, municipal water and sewer lines, and the aerial line that carries cable overhead. A job can be a single bore under a highway or a fiber build that reaches every street in a city.

Day to day that means directional boring, cable and conduit plowing, fiber blowing, excavation and restoration, and aerial construction. The drill rigs, plows, excavators, and bucket trucks are company owned, and most projects are for municipalities, internet providers, and developers.

The office and yard are in Hastings, Minnesota, and crews go where the build is, across Minnesota, North Dakota, South Dakota, Iowa, and Wisconsin. Travel to the job is a normal part of field work here.
